A Fabulous Afternoon {Tea with E!}

As a wedding planner in Los Angeles, I often have the privilege of attending some of the most wonderful and elaborate industry events, where the best of the best showcase their many talents and take on the responsibility of introducing the industry as a whole to their take on the latest trends. Last week, the master-mind and creative director behind Tic-Tock Couture Florals, Eddie Zaratsian, hosted his second annual prestigious tea party, Tea with E. Over 100 planners attended this year’s fete at the Langham Hotel Pasadena’s Viennese Ballroom – a stunning backdrop that offers a little old-world charm perfectly suited for a proper tea party (for you and a 100 or so of your closest friends!)

In true form, Eddie & his team designed an awe-inspiring setting that included a romantic and sophisticated coral palette, a fresh floral hair station, a portrait studio complete with custom backdrop and furniture courtesy of Revelry Event Designers, and live entertainment by the beautiful Brenna Whitaker and the very talented Brandt Jacobus.

Of course, no tea party would be complete without the many delightfully sweet and savory treats like traditional scones and clotted cream, an array of tea sandwiches with coconut shrimp, smoked salmon, even bacon & eggs! The desserts were simply irresistible! Just how can you turn away a French macaron sitting on a pillow of anise-seed cream, a chocolate orange gateau with grand marnier, or a cone filled with tropical mango! The cocktails were endless and of course the tea was brewed to perfection.  Bravo to the Langham Hotel Pasadena!

It was such an honor to be among such talented people and in such a beautiful setting, I can’t imagine what’s in store for next year’s tea party. Thank you Eddie for spoiling us, inspiring us, and getting us all together!

With an entire supporting cast that collaborated to make this year’s tea party most successful, it’s hard to imagine anything less than perfection from these exceptional A-list vendors! Thanks to all for a great event!

Cake Topper Love Birds

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 All in the Details, Etsy Obsessed No Comments

If you’re looking to personalize your wedding cake, take a look at these adorable love birds handmade by the very talented Ashley Anna Brown of  Fernanimals.  Perfect for you and your love bird on the BIG day, each is handmade from vintage, recycled, or reused fabrics to create a one of a kind wedding cake topper.  Custom orders are welcome.   Visit the Fernanimals website and shop to see the full collection.

My very own birdie, whose name is Sammie, is on her way to my office to sit atop my desk and give me some daily inspiration.  The only thing sweeter is that my darling niece shares the same name.

This Little Piggy Went to the Market…

At a recent industry event I had the pleasure of meeting Tara Simon of The Sticky Pig, an LA based bakery that makes gourmet candied bacon bites so delicious they’ll have you and your guests ‘wagging your curly little tails’ and begging for more! These are the perfect alternative to the cupcake and petit four wedding favor trend.  Sweet and savory, sticky and crunchy, nutty or creamy, the possibilities are endless.  Check out their website and online shop for the full collection.
